As a commitment to serve the residents of San Bernardino County, Sheriff John McMahon, in collaboration with the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, developed an action plan for the implementation of 15 additional deputy sheriff's to unincorporated county patrol stations over a six month period. In January 2014, Sheriff McMahon allocated a total of five deputy sheriff's to the Victor Valley and Morongo Basin Stations. An increase of six additional deputies will be added to the Fontana and Central Stations during the first weeks of April, 2014. The third deployment of additional resources will take place in June, 2014 and will be directed to the Victor Valley Station. "Increasing the staffing levels in our county operations means better response times, an increase in proactive patrol, and will meet the needs of our communties"said Sheriff John McMahon.
