by on 2013-12-11
Mobile Commerce Digital Technology Alliance, together with Wealthy Kids and other key organizations representing innovation, entrepreneurship and education, will host a local event to expose San Bernardino youth and their parents to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related activities. The half day event called Read and Grow Rich integrates literacy with hands on learning.
“Getting youth and young adults excited about science and technology is critical to the future of this city,” said organizer Cynthia Frazier, also known as Tech Diva.
“Read and Grow Rich plays a critical role in exposing the next generation to the pathway toward STEM careers, critical thinking skills, and independent life-long learning,” she continued.
The half-day event will take place in the Henderson Auditorium of the Community Hospital of San Bernardino, located 1800 N. Western Ave., San Bernardino, on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 1 to 5 p.m.
At this event, youth will rotate through science and technology program stations headed by local engineers. They will also hear local Teenpreneurs read and talk about their business, play banking and finance games, and build their own candy car.
Youth participants receive a free book to take home if they RSVP. To RSVP, visit www.ReadAndGrowRich.EventBrite.com or call 206-312-1626.
