On Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., Ron Young will present “Everything Important to Me, Happened in San Bernardino....Well, Almost" at the City of San Bernardino Historical and Pioneer Society.
This program will be a nostalgic look back to what it was like for Ron as well as everyone else who grew up in this town during the 1950's and 60's. During this walk down my memory lane, Ron will invite those attending to join in and share their stories as well.
Ron's family moved to San Bernardino when he was three-years-old.
From 1957 until the passing of his mother in 1986, he grew up in the same home on Sierra Way. His childhood was filled with wonder awe, tragedy and disappointment, but it was these elements in his life that led him to follow his passion of entertaining.
Named Class Clown and Most Talented in his senior year in high school, Ron pursued his dream of acting and becoming a radio personality.
Over the years, you have heard his voice on commercials, infomercials, narration and at one time he was on over 140 radio stations across the country on Unistar Satellite radio.
Locally, he was part of the morning team of Harv and Youngstuff on KCKC Radio in the 80’s. He has worked in radio from Palm Springs, to Los Angeles as well as Hawaii and Guam.
After 43 years in the industry, Ron stepped away from the mic last December, but he continues to act in local theatre and independent film.
Proudly, he states, his story began here in San Bernardino and this story that you will hear when he presents, “Everything I ever learned, I learned in San Bernardino… Well, almost.”
The location of the event is 796 North D Street in San Bernardino, CA 92401.
