San Bernardino City Police are looking into a possible impersonation of a police officer case. On Jan. 3 police officers responded to the 700 block of North Mt. Vernon Avenue after receiving a call of a Hispanic male adult performing traffic stops in the area. Police officials said they found a 25-year-old male resident driving a 2000 white Ford Crown Victoria, license 6WWG004 at the location. Police said the vehicle was equipped with lighting "similar to that of a police vehicle." Police cited the man for driving on a suspended license and driving a vehicle with emergency lighting. The vehicle was impounded. Police said they believe multiple vehicles may have been stopped by the subject and are conducting an investigation into the matter. Anyone who may have been stopped or contacted by this subject, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information about the man's actions with the vehicle, are asked to call Det. Matt Block at 909-388-4935 or Sgt. Emil Kokesh at 909-384-5613.
