Captain Jimmy Jews was the first African-American firefighter in San Bernardino. After leaving the police department to further his career in the fire department, he broke the color barrier. He eventually became a Fire Captain in 1989, demonstrating his hard work and bravery to fight not just fires but also the discrimination and prejudice of those times. Today, we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth by highlighting Captain Jimmy Jews and his courageous endeavors. #ProudtoServe #DutyHonorCommunity
