With the start of a new year, Cal State San Bernardino’s Community Counseling Center is now accepting new appointments and is welcoming a new director.
Christina Hassija, a CSUSB assistant professor of psychology, has taken on a new role as director of the Community Counseling Center. Staffed by faculty and psychology graduate students, the CCC offers 50-minute sessions for individuals as well as couples counseling at a $10 rate, sliding scale available.
“I am thrilled to be assuming this position as the director of the CCC and to be able to assist our program in continuing to provide this much needed service to members of the Inland Empire community,” says Hassija.
A licensed clinical therapist, Hassija received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Wyoming in 2011. She earned her bachelor of arts in psychology and her master of arts in clinical psychology from Cal State Northridge. Her research interests lie in the area of trauma and associated mental health conditions, such as posttraumatic stress disorder.
The university’s Community Counseling Center offers quality confidential counseling services for children, adolescents and adults. The center specializes in coping with depression, anxiety, stress management, children with behavioral problems, relationship issues, as well as marital counseling.
The Community Counseling Center is located in the Social and Behavioral Sciences building in room 125.
