Several weapons police believe are used to support criminal street gang activity in San Bernardino were seized during a search warrant operation Jan. 29.

San Bernardino police with the help of forces from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and the FBI took four suspected gang members into custody after a multi-agency operation throughout San Bernardino early Wednesday, Jan. 29. Law enforcement officials with search warrants searched six separate locations including residents known to house individual members of a criminal street gang known as Sur Crazy Ones (SUR) and took four into custody: Jaime Castrellon, 24; Richard Ortega, 23; Javier Palomino, 30; and Ithzel Lopez, 29. The warrants were served as the San Bernardino Police Department aims to take action to curtail criminal street gang activity in the city, according to a release. Police also seized several weapons, including a Mack 11 with an extended magazine, a .40 carbine rifle, and a 9mm pistol. One pound of marijuana and a flack jacket were also recovered in the efforts, Lt. R. Lawhead, a spokesperson with the San Bernardino City Police, confirmed. All four gang suspects are booked in the West Valley Detention Center.
