Parents can sign up now for CSUSB's "Parenting the Young Child" class, designed to help parents create their own parenting manual.

Project CUIDAR, a First 5-funded program at Cal State San Bernardino, will offer a series of parenting classes, the first beginning Jan. 13, at five new locations in the Inland Empire. Sponsored by CSUSB’s Institute of Child Development and Family Relations, “Parenting the Young Child” courses are designed to help parents create their own parenting manual. Each course consists of 12 sessions that meet twice a week. Four of the six courses are in English and two are offered in Spanish. They are free and open to the public. The courses are primarily geared for parents or caregivers of young children through age 5, and will offer new parenting tools to help build stronger life-long bonds. A free child enrichment group for children 3-5 years old and structured childcare for children 6-12 years old will be available while caregivers attend the parenting class. All locations include a light meal for parents and children. The courses and locations are listed below in date order: • Jan. 17 to March 21, 3 to 5:30 p.m., at Cal State San Bernardino’s Social and Behavioral Sciences building, room 217, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino.
