The Red Cross San Bernardino Chapter was busy cleaning up shop over the weekend - their gift shop, that is. The chapter closed their gift shop and on Saturday, Nov. 2, held a parking lot sale to help benefit the Red Cross. The event was considered to be the San Bernardino store's last "yard sale," as they are shifting to a new online store. "We're going into the information age. All of our Red Cross material to complete your disaster kit, red cross clothing, everything will be able to be purchased online," said longtime gift shop volunteer Nora Taylor. Taylor explained that other changes at the office are to be expected, as well. With the gift shop closed, the San Bernardino chapter is looking to use the space for classrooms and offices. Offered classes include CPR, first aid, and disaster action team training instruction. The chapter specializes in training certified nurse assistance. Those who are interested in buying Red Cross materials can go to www.redcrossstore.org. The store sells First Aid kits, training materials (mannequins, mannequin lungs, and student training packs), textbooks, and Red Cross apparel.
