It's Never Too Late

Wednesday evening drew hundreds to the California Theatre of the Performing Arts in San Bernardino, but in this case it wasn’t a show or a play that brought people together. Instead, family and friends gathered to watch their loved ones walk across the stage and graduate from San Bernardino Adult School. For many of these graduates, achieving their high school diploma or GED certification was a long journey. Among the recent graduates was William Goodman, who at the age of 75 was the oldest participant in this year’s commencement. “I dropped out of school in 8th grade,” Goodman stated. He decided not too long ago that it wasn't too late to go back to school and receive his GED. With his determination and the support of his niece, Linda, and friends, Raymond, Klaus, and Pat, he was able to accomplish his goal. Like many high school graduates, William hopes to further continue his education and is currently looking into colleges where he wants to pursue a degree in accounting.
