Over the weekend San Bernardino area teachers were honored as Office Depot on Hospitality Lane hosted its Teacher Appreciation Day. The event looked to show teachers appreciation for their dedication and work with local students as the new school year starts. Teachers were honored with complimentary breakfasts and special deals in the event. Teachers were given gift bags filled with goodies like discount coupons to help with the costs of purchasing school supplies in the upcoming school year. Other goodies included gift cards and bags from Daniel’s Jewelry store. Raffle items were also donated by area businesses including the Inland Center Mall, Vicky’s Burgers, Sundowners, Horace Mann, Read Conmigo, Arrowhead Credit Union, Legacy Financial Services, Hair & Co, First Investors, Schools First, Linda Travis/Avon, La-Z-Boy and Guitar Center. Teachers also enjoyed breakfast and lunch edibles, presented by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, to show their support. Teacher Appreciation Day event coordinator Danika Zimpleman highlighted the reasons behind the event. “This is a great event that we at Office Depot love to present to the teachers in our community. We want to make sure they know they are highly appreciated.” She added, “The Teacher Appreciation Breakfast is a great success each year, thanks to the community businesses that pitch in to show our teachers how much we do appreciate them. Supporters like Bakers Drive Thru, which provides almost $2000 in gift certificates for the teachers, and Daniel’s Jewelers, which donates several $50 gift cards for the teacher raffle, really make the event a lot of fun. This year breakfast goodies were graciously donated by the Souplantation, San Manuel Events and Catering, Chili’s, Togo’s, Mimi’s Cafe and Coco’s. We were thrilled for all of the support shown for the teachers, and extend an open invitation to anyone else who would like to join us for next year’s event.” Over 100 teachers participated in the weekend event, to Zimpleman’s delight. “I’m glad the turnout has been great,” she said.
