Bill Nord, prolific portrait photographer and aspiring wedding photographer, was honored an event that displayed a great collection of his work to the community. Due to his fascination with the African descent, Nord's stories regarding his travels to the African continent as well as the pictures he had provided from the several countries he had visited, such as Belize and Haiti, left the audience speechless. In addition to his travels, Nord has also devoted much of his time to being a long-time teacher st schools throughout San Bernardino. While he remained attentive to his studies and profession, Nord's wife Doris stayed at his side to enjoy the fascination that his life had brought. Doris and the remainder of the Nord family has thus taken the time to provide a small portion of Bill's collections to the National Orange Show Art Collections. The acknowledgement for the donation reads: “Dear Mrs. Nord, The Board of Directors of the National Orange Show wishes to express its gratitude for the donation of 25 portraits of Africans taken by Bill Nord in domestic and international sites. The collection will join the Orange Show art as the second permanent collection to be displayed periodically at our gallery." Bill’s work was always welcomed at our yearly All-California Juried Art Exhibition and in 2013, our selection committee chose his portrait of a grizzled old man to be part of the NOS Permanent Collection. We thank you and your family for your generous donation of Bill’s work. We look forward to featuring his collections for years to come,” signed Chairman of the Board, Sean Varner, Esq. and CEO Dan Jimenez. The community is grateful for the sentimental donation of Bill Nord's talent to be displayed. For those wishing to take in the beauty that Nord's photography presents, visit the National Orange Show Art Collections found locally in San Bernardino.
