SAN BERNARDINO >> About 25 members of the Elohist Club of Cal State San Bernardino University gathered together to beautify the campus community and nearby areas. Students and members involved assisted to remove debris and discarded litter scattered along University Ave. They also participated in weeding along the path and cutting tree branches that obstructed the walkway. The purpose for this project is to demonstrate neighborly love and reestablish a sense of pride in our campus here at Cal State San Bernardino. The Elohist Club stems from a local faith group called the World Mission Society Church of God. The World Mission Society Church of God is a Christian non-denominational church with more than 2,500 locations and 2.5 million registered members in 175 countries. The Church of God believes in Elohim God—God the Father and God the Mother—based on the teaching of the Bible. The group has been recognized on an international scale for its selfless service to mankind on a worldwide scale. Among others, the Church of God has even been granted the President’s Call to Service Award by President Barack Obama. “A better today leads to a better tomorrow,” Chelsea Vreeland said. “When we work together and take pride in our community, others are inspired to think of how they can contribute as well. Good deeds are contagious and through one act of kindness on a local scale, we believe the world can become a better place.”
