SAN BERNARDINO>> It is that time again! The 31st Annual San Bernardino Sunset Rotary Tinman Sprint Triathlon, 5K Run & Walk, Kids Triathlon & Tricycle Race will take place at a new location: Western Regional Little League Headquarters (WRLLH) in San Bernardino. This fun-filled event has something for everyone and every level of fitness. Each year athletes, from throughout Southern California, compete for medals and bragging rights.

“The Tinman is a reverse sprint triathlon and has become a signature annual competition for our region”, says Gigi Hanna, President of the San Bernardino Sunset Rotary, “some of our best athletes are part of our partnership with PossAbilities in Loma Linda. The lift in the pool gives them what they need to compete alongside other triathletes.”

For 30 years the Sunset Rotary Tinman has been held at Cal State San Bernardino, but due to significant construction projects on campus, the race has been moved to WRLLH. The venue provides plenty of space for all events and the Finish Line Festival featuring music, food, vendors and fun!

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, June 25th. Both the reserve sprint triathlon and the 5K run/walk begin promptly at 7:00am. The triathlon consists of 3.1 mile run, 9-mile bike ride, and a 150-yard pool swim. It is plenty competitive for pros but not too challenging for beginners. Kid's triathlons and a tricycle race get underway after most athletes have completed events, so parents can assist and cheer for their children.

Funds raised support the Sunset Rotary’s philanthropic and service projects from the eradication of polio worldwide to service to the homeless, seniors, and youth in San Bernardino.  Service Above Self is the mission of Rotary International. We are all volunteers creating stronger, healthier and safer communities around the world.
