On Friday, April 25th, from 7 to 10 p.m. actress Lindsay Wagner will host a scholarship fundraiser at San Bernardino Valley College. The Emmy-award winner has been teaching acting in the college’s Radio, Television and Film (RTF) program for the past year and has taken an interest in helping out wherever she can. “I really enjoy the interaction I’ve had with Valley College students,” says Wagner, “and I know how important scholarship opportunities are for them. I hope to give their scholarship fund a boost.” Diane Dusick, chair of the RTF program, adds that Wagner “will be screening her 1992 critically acclaimed film, ‘A Message from Holly,’ and will have a Q&A session after the showing.” “A Message from Holly” stars Wagner as an artist who likes to live as a blithe spirit until she is diagnosed with terminal cancer. While the news is devastating, it’s the fate of her 6-year-old daughter, Holly, that concerns her most. Based on a true story, the movie is a heart-warming drama that also stars Shelley Long, playing a high-powered executive and longtime friend who wants to help. Tickets are $20 in advance ($10 for students) and $30 at the door. All proceeds will go toward an acting scholarship for a San Bernardino Valley College student. Tickets can be purchased online at www.valleycollege.edu/ema. For more information, contact Diane Dusick at 909-384-8546.
