SAN BERNARDINO>> Earlier this month, members of the San Bernardino City Unified School District Police Department arrested Billy Ray Duncan III, a San Bernardino resident and documented criminal street gang member after he was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm on the campus of a local high school. In the hours following Duncan’s arrest, evidence surfaced in regards to the San Bernardino Police Department’s investigation into the murder of Jaemiah Trammel. On July 20, 2016, Trammel was driving in the area of 1400 E. Date Street in San Bernardino when someone began to shoot at her vehicle. Trammel was struck by a bullet and died as a result of the shooting. The San Bernardino Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded and conducted the investigation into the murder of the innocent victim. Detectives working the case linked Duncan to the homicide and by night’s end, arrested Duncan for Trammel’s murder. Duncan, who is 17 years old, was subsequently booked at Juvenile Hall for the murder of Trammel and possessing a loaded firearm on school grounds. The District Attorney’s Office plans on charging Duncan as an adult. Investigators believe that Duncan did not act alone and that other subjects were present and or involved in the death of Trammel. They are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying or locating those subjects. Anyone with information regarding this tragic shooting is asked to please contact Detective Munoz at (909) 384-5630, Sergeant Sullivan at (909) 384-5615 or Sergeant Kokesh at (909) 384-5613.
