Women’s Cross Country Wins Their 6th Foothill Conference Championship

The SBVC Women’s Cross Country team grabbed their second straight Foothill Conference Championships and sixth overall, the top individual finisher for SBVC placed 1st, freshman Fernanda Rodriguez (Jurupa Valley Rubidoux) with a time of 18:39. SBVC collected 19 points at this event, finishing 38 points ahead of Victor Valley College. This year’s Foothill Conference Championship was the last one to feature Rio Hondo College as they announced they will be discontinuing their Cross Country program. The event was held at Legg Lake in El Monte, SBVC runners took the first three spots at the finish line. The next highest finisher for SBVC was freshman Pandora Mondragon (Fontana Jurupa Hills) placing 2nd with a time of 18:45 and placing 3rd was sophomore Karlie Creal (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago) with a time of 19:10. Finishing 6th was sophomore Adrianna Contreras (Fontana Jurupa Hills) with a time of 19:59 and freshman Jessica Hernandez (Rialto W.A. Carter) wrapped up the SBVC finishers with a time of 20:29, placing 7th. Competing, but out of the top five for SBVC was freshman Citlaly Garcia (San Bernardino Cajon) who finished in 8th place and freshman Jennifer Granados-Trejo (Jurupa Valley Patriot) in 9th place.
