Burglars in Custody

On Tuesday morning at about 4:35 a.m. SBPD received a call from store security at the La Curacao regarding unknown subjects forcing entry into the rear of the closed business. Just prior to the arrival of SBPD officers the suspects fled leaving the stolen property on the ground outside the business. Information obtained from the store security system offered a description of the suspects and their vehicle, white SUV. Approximately 1 ½ hours later SBPD received an alarm call at Aaron’s Sales and Lease. Suspects forced entry into the closed business through the electrical room and attempted to gain entry into the main show room but were unsuccessful. A short time later SBPD received a call of a suspicious white SUV to the rear of 2084 E. Highland Ave with two occupants. SBPD officers arrived and contacted Garza and Rivera. Video surveillance indicted both Garza and Rivera were involved in the burglaries at La Curacao and Aaron’s Sales and Lease. Both suspects were arrested and lodged at Central Detention Center.
