Moreno Valley, Redlands, and San Bernardino Locals in the SBVC Women's Volleyball 2015 Season Review

The 2015 season was the eighth year for head coach Tricia Holder as SBVC ended the season with a record of 6-16 overall and 3-7 in Conference, finishing fourth. On the court, sophomore middle blocker Yamiq Myles (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago) was named first team all-Foothill Conference. She finished 1st in conference with a 1.11 block per set average, Myles also finished 2nd in conference in hitting percentage with a .284 average. She finished 6th in Conference with 148 kills and finished 3rd in Conference with 24 solo blocks. Myles had a season high 16 kills at home versus Victor Valley on Oct. 7 and 9 total blocks at East L.A. on Sept. 25. Also named first team all-Foothill Conference was freshman libero Valerie Navarrete (Fontana A.B. Miller) who finished 4th in Conference in digs with 355, and 4th in Conference in digs per set average 4.55. Navarrete had eight matches where she grabbed 20 or more digs and had a season high 28 digs at Victor Valley on Oct. 28. Named to the second team all-Conference was freshman outside hitter Roslynn Hamilton (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago). Hamilton finished 5th in Conference in digs with 296, and 5th in Conference in digs per set average 3.75. She finished the season with 29 service aces and 127 kills. Also named to the second team all-Conference was freshman outside hitter Stephanie Gilbert (Moreno Valley Vista Del Lago). Gilbert led the team with 149 kills, finishing 9th in Conference and finished 3rd on the team with 198 digs, averaging of 2.48 digs per set. Also named to the second team all-Conference was freshman setter Nayeli Hernandez (San Bernardino Aquinas). Hernandez finished 2nd in Conference with 419 set assists and 2nd in Conference in set assists average with 7.41 assists per set. She also led the team, finishing 5th in Conference, in service aces with 34. Those who received an honorable mention were freshman middle blocker Ariana Cole (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller) and freshman outside hitter Daeja Lewis (Redlands East Valley). Cole finished 3rd on the team in kills with 145 and 3rd on the team in service aces with 28. Lewis finished 5th on the team in digs with 124 and tied for 4th on the team in service aces with 20.
