National Walk to School Day

Hundreds of students and parents got out of their cars and hoofed it to school this week for National Walk to School Day. Pushing strollers, pulling wagons, riding bikes and walking in groups small and large, students and parents got to see what walking to school is like. Organized by Safe Routes to School, walking to school not only reduces air pollution and traffic, which is always a safety concern for pedestrians, but it helps make neighborhoods more... well... neighborly as residents get a chance to see each other and say hello.
