Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 11:38 p.m. a shooting was reported at Domino's Pizza located in the 1600 block of E. Highland Avenue. San Bernardino Police Department officers responded and found the victim who was identified as 39 year old Nelly Kantun a Domino's Pizza employee, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk outside the business. Kantun was taken via ambulance to Saint Bernardine's Medical Center for treatment but died of her injuries a short time later. The lone suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting in a black Honda Accord. The suspect was last seen going towards Del Roda Avenue. The suspect was identified as Kantun's long term boyfriend, Pedro Enrique Duquesne, who was described as a Cuban male by several witnesses of the shooting which occurred inside and outside of the business. The couple apparently had been having relationship problems. Several hours after the shooting, officers located where the suspect was staying. While officers were in the area, they were flagged down by a citizen who knew the suspect. The citizen reported just seeing the suspect on foot on Waterman Avenue north of Mill Street. Officers responded to that area and located the suspect who was taken into custody without incident. No weapon was found on the suspect. The suspect was taken to the San Bernardino Police Department for an interview and processing where he admitted to committing the crime. The suspect was later taken to the County Jail where he was booked on murder charges. If anyone has more information on this shooting please contact Detective Michele Mahan at (909) 384-5619 or Sergeant Gary Robertson at (909) 841-5361.
