High school students looking to improve or work on their writing skills will have the opportunity to do so through a 6-week writing workshop offered in San Bernardino.
Using art pieces from the permanent collection of the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at Cal State San Bernardino, the workshop begins Thursday, Jan. 29. It will run Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. through March 5.
The cost of the workshop is $20. The workshop is free for Friends of RAFFMA with family memberships and 50 percent off ($10) for all other membership levels.
The workshop for high school students will also use digital images to practice and strengthen critical thinking and improve writing skills, with exercises and assignments taking place in and outside of the classroom with instructor and peer critiques in class, according to CSUSB officials.
Space for the workshop is limited and registration forms are accepted on a first come, first served basis. They can be downloaded from the RAFFMA website at http://raffma.csusb.edu or picked up at the museum front desk. Students under 18 must have written consent from their legal guardian.
For more information, contact Paige Taylor, RAFFMA’s education and outreach coordinator at 909-537-7783 or ptaylor@csusb.edu.
