11 Arrested in Saturation Patrols

Two saturation patrols conducted by the San Bernardino Police Department over the New Year holiday weekend saw 11 total arrests for drivers who were under the influence.
From 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, San Bernardino police stopped 46 vehicles in their patrol and conducted nine field sobriety tests. Of those nine, six were arrested for drunk driving, three were arrested for non-DUI charges, 26 citations were issued for various traffic violations, two citations were issued to drivers with suspended or revoked drivers licenses. Six citations were issued to unlicensed drivers, one stolen vehicle was recovered and 12 vehicles were impounded.
From 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following night, Saturday, Jan. 3, 45 vehicles were stopped and four drivers were given field sobriety tests. Two driving under the influence - one drunk driving, the other driving while under the influence of drugs. Seven citations were issued for traffic violations, five citations were given to drivers operating vehicles with a suspended or revoked drivers license, seven citations were issued to unlicensed drivers and 11 vehicles were impounded.
