The Community Foundation serving the Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino celebrated its 75th Anniversary which honored a legacy of generous donors who’ve made Inland Southern California stronger and more vibrant through philanthropy. “At the center of everything we do, we cherish our donors – for without them we could not create a positive impact in our communities,” said Dr. Jonathan Lorenzo Yorba, President and CEO of The Community Foundation. The Foundation’s Anniversary kicked off on May 22 with its 75th Birthday Party, a free celebration, open to the public, designed to bring together donors, families, and local residents to share stories of philanthropy and learn ways they can invest in their community. Attendees also enjoyed a ‘slice of cake,’ musical entertainment and hands-on activities supporting their favorite causes in the region. What’s more, the Foundation handed out copies of its latest Annual Report that features work in such as areas as scholarships, grants, funds and community leadership. In addition to the party, the Foundation will be holding its Gala Event on Oct. 15 at the Riverside Convention Center. Donors and supporters from across the region will celebrate a memorable evening as The Community Foundation highlights achievements from its beginnings in 1941, current activities and efforts to address the future of philanthropy through the Foundation’s Youth Grantmakers Program. In a special tribute The Community Foundation is honoring the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations and philanthropic Inland Southern California Tribes. All net gala proceeds will be placed into the Youth Grantmakers Endowment, enabling this flagship program to further advance the culture of philanthropy in this region.

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
