St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in San Bernardino, along with 11 neighboring Methodist churches, was able to collect over $11,000 in gift cards for the families of the victims of the Dec. 2 attack in San Bernardino.
Over 1,000 gift cards in amounts from $5 - $100 to various stores and restaurants in the region were donated by local church members, and as far away as Las Vegas. The gift cards were delivered to Children’s Fund, a non-profit serving San Bernardino County, who is working closely with the County of San Bernardino and the families’ liaisons to disburse the donations.
“We want to thank everyone who donated,” said Rev. David McGlocklin who spearheaded the gift card donation drive. “We want to especially thank Crosswalk Church in Redlands for bringing in $3,500 in gift cards to partner with us.”
