On Sept. 28, members of various area Toastmasters clubs held the semi-annual speech contest for Humorous and Evaluation speeches for Areas B1, B2, B4, and B5 of Division B. Michael Zlaket, President of Time of Your Life Club, announced that Rev. Nelson Castorillo was second place winner in the humorous speech contest for Area B1, and Ed Baumgartner, a member of Area B2, Time of Your Life Club coach, was first place winner in the contest. Second place winners must be ready to compete should the first place winner be unable to be at the next contest. First place winners go to the next level, which is the Division B Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest, on Oct. 12. The first place winners of this contest will next compete at the District 12 contest set for Nov. 8 and 9, in Ontario. The Time of Your Life Toastmasters Club 788 meets on the first and third Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2900 N. “E” St. in San Bernardino.
