SAN BERNARDINO >> San Bernardino County Fire Department responded around 9:30 a.m. July 7 to a brush fire just North of Foothill Drive near Sterling Avenue in Little Sand Canyon, San Bernardino. They were assisted by U.S. Forest Service on the ground and Cal Fire who gave air support in the form of two Grumman S-2T Tanker aircraft dropping phos-chek or fire suppressant, two water-dropping helicopters and a spotter plane. Many neighbors were pleased that due to a concerted effort this fire was contained quickly without a single home damaged or any residents or fire fighters injured. Close to a five-acre area of grass was burned.
