Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicle

A 19-year-old San Bernardino man was taken into custody by San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies on suspicion of grand theft auto. Donald Stanley was allegedly traveling east bound of 48th Street in San Bernardino on Aug. 17 at 9:45 p.m. when deputies located his vehicle, apparently stolen out of Highland. The owner of the vehicle, police said, was a resident of Riverside. The vehicle was stopped on Pershing Ave., police said and Stanley, the driver, was the only occupant of the vehicle. Stanley was taken into custody after it was found he did not have permission by the owner to be in possession of the vehicle. The vehicle was later turned over to its owner in driveable condition. Stanley was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center.
