East Valley Water District Adopts Balanced Budget

East Valley Water District has recently adopted a $31 million Fiscal Year 2014-15 Budget. The June 25th Board Meeting provided a look at projected expenses and revenues for the coming year, and an opportunity to highlight input from the June 4th Budget Workshop. "We have a number of critical Capital Improvement Projects planned for the coming budget year," James Morales. "Not only are there system maintenance projects, we have also identified projects that could immediately increase our waste-water capacity to allow for a number of proposed development projects." After careful review, fourteen Capital Improvement Projects have been included in the proposed budget. Projects are located throughout the service area and are consistent with the Districts mission including: • Pipeline replacements to increase waste-water capacity • Water Booster station replacements to achieve electrical efficiencies • Conjunctive use wells as part of a regional program • Multi-year rate study • Continuing with the meter replacement program "East Valley Water District is preparing for an aggressive year with many projects underway that carry out our commitment to leadership, partnership, and stewardship," said General Manager/CEO John Mura. “We will continue to provide exemplary service throughout the coming year. As part of that commitment we continued the implementation of additional water conservation programs and capital improvement projects.” The full adopted budget will be available on the Districts website at www.eastvalley.org or at the District headquarters.
