A fatal traffic collision last Monday, Jan. 27 left a driver dead and a passenger in critical condition. San Bernardino police responded just after 10 p.m. to a single vehicle collision near the intersection of 30th Street and Muscupiabe Drive, according to a release issued by San Bernardino police. There, responding officers found a white, 2006 Nissan Frontier had collided with a large block wall. Inside the vehicle were two unidentified Hispanic males between the ages of 25 and 35, according to police. When medical personnel arrived they pronounced the driver dead, reports show. The passenger was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition. Police said no witnesses were immediately identified at the scene but upon investigation of physical evidence, officers said they indicated the vehicle was allegedly traveling west on 30th Street at a high rate of speed when the driver allegedly lost control of the car and struck the block wall. Police said roads were wet at the time of the collision. Those with any information or who may have witnessed the crash are asked to contact Det. Devin Peck at 909-384-5664.
