Hope for Averick is Hope for All

Averick Olson was born 100 days early. When Averick was born he weighed 1lb 1oz and was a mere 11” long. During his 9-month hospital stay, he fought a difficult battle that included multiple procedures, blood transfusions, and over a dozen surgeries. Since coming home, he has continued to combat many complications due to his premature birth. No parent should ever have to experience the fear of waiting to see if their child will make it out of the hospital alive. No baby should have to spend their first 279 days of life in the hospital, incubated and sedated the majority of the time. The biggest factor in everything that Averick has gone through is that he was born premature. Thus, his family has gotten involved with the March of Dimes to help improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Thanks to their research, Averick was able to receive treatments moments after his birth to help strengthen his lungs. On April 16, the March of Dimes will hold the High Desert March for Babies at Victor Valley College in Victorville. Join us, as we walk together for stronger, healthier babies. Please let me know if you are interested in speaking with the Olson family as they can spread hope for other families going through similar difficult circumstances.
