In honor of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office is set to host the 9th Annual Crime Victims' Rights Week Memorial on April 25th, 2024, at Victor Valley College. This solemn event serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of crime on individuals and communities, while also spotlighting the rights and resources available to those affected.

The memorial, which will take place at the Victor Valley College Performing Arts Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., aims to raise awareness about the issues faced by crime victims and to introduce attendees to the vital services and support networks in place to assist them. With the theme of empowerment and resilience, this year's memorial promises to be a meaningful occasion for reflection and solidarity.

One of the distinctive features of the event will be the array of resource tables available before and after the memorial program. These tables will offer attendees the opportunity to learn more about the various support services, advocacy groups, and legal resources dedicated to assisting crime victims and their families. Representatives from organizations across San Bernardino County will be on hand to provide information and guidance.

Moreover, organizers are encouraging attendees to bring photo T-shirts or framed photographs of their loved ones who have been victims of crime. These tributes will be displayed at the event, serving as poignant reminders of the individuals whose lives have been forever altered by criminal acts. By honoring their memories, the memorial seeks to amplify the voices of victims and their families, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity within the community.

The High Desert Memorial represents a significant opportunity for residents of Victorville and the surrounding areas to come together in support of crime victims and their families. By participating in this event, attendees can demonstrate their commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all those affected by crime, while also learning about the resources available to assist them in their journey towards healing and justice.

For those interested in attending, the Victor Valley College Performing Arts Center is located at 18422 Bear Valley Road, Victorville. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the memorial program scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and all members of the community are warmly welcomed to join in this meaningful commemoration.
