Casino Night: 108th Installation of Officers & Business Expo

SAN BERNARDINO >> It was hands down excitement Friday, Feb. 19 as guests, community members, and businesses gathered at the National Orange Show Event Center’s Martin A. Matich Sports Center, Backstretch for the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce Casino Night. The event is an annual tradition that brings together the installation of new officers and business expo for a night of networking and fun. Guests for the first portion of the event were able to stroll among booths at the business expo. The Chamber President and CEO Judi Penman introduced State Senator Mike Morrell of the 23rd Senate Disrict who swore in the 2016 Board of Directors. In his speech, Morrell discussed the importance of business owner’s involvement in the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Morrell discussed the involvement of the Chamber’s communication to Sacramento in stopping bills. Morrell added, "There are some great legislatures up there, but we need more good people to vote to upgrade the people we send to represent our interests for a change rather than government interests. Hopefully you will vote to support businesses and vote where politicians will remember citizens first and state second." Morrell also noted business that were recognized which included: • Chili’s Grill and Bar • Arrowhead Mechanical • Inland Empire Glass “Pretty much everyone from the previous board is returning, however there are a few new members. It is always great to get new blood on the board,” Chamber President and CEO Judi Penman said of her new board. “It is an opportunity for new ideas and new energy.
