SAN BERNARDINO>> NaChé Thompson, a San Bernardino resident and mother of two boys, has used her personal experience to create a new product. Nokï Baby, a baby bottle adapter that turns 8 ounce water bottles into baby bottles and dispenses powdered formula. Many parents experience the stress that comes with running out of prepared bottles while on the road. Thompson said he California-based company product is a solution to the stress of formula feeding on the go. As a former teacher of the San Bernardino City Unified School District, Thompson said she created Nokï in 2015 to save mothers the time and mess that normally comes with trying to make a formula bottle away from home. Thompson said Nokï’s feeding alternative was inspired by struggles she faced with running errands with babies to feed. When running out of baby bottles while out on the go, she would have to abandon errands to find a store, purchase formula and a water bottle and would make a huge mess mixing them together. She said the hassle sparked the idea for innovation of a cleaner and quicker option. "My product has given me hope that I will be able to build generational wealth for my family through the future success of this business," Thompson said. While Nokï Baby will launch and manufacture in March 2017, Nokï Baby is launching a kickstarter campaign Sept. 1 to raise money for manufacture. She said the goal is to bring Nokï to a store near local residents. By backing her campaign, buyers can be among the first to receive a Nokï Baby Bottle Adapter before it is available in stores. "My dream is to see my product become available worldwide," Thompson said. "There is potential for every baby who is formula fed to benefit from Nokï. Babies living in orphanages could benefit and babies who have mothers who are medically unable to breastfeed can benefit. The possibilities really are endless." Thompson said Nokï is easy to use for all caretakers of infant children and the baby bottle adapters make it easier to formula feed babies on the go. To use the reusable version of Nokï, product users unscrew the top and fill it with the baby’s favorite formula and then close it back up, screw it onto an 8 ounce water bottle, shake it up and then feed the baby. Eventually, Thompson said Nokï will also be available in a disposable version, which will come prepacked with powder formula.
