Grand Terrace High School Senior Elite Lopez, 17 years old, is being recognized as this week’s Athlete of the Week for his outstanding achievements both on the field and in the classroom.

Elite currently holds an impressive 3.8 GPA, consistently earning recognition on the Principal’s Honor Roll for maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or higher throughout high school. His ability to balance a demanding academic schedule with his athletic commitments makes him a standout student-athlete.

Since his freshman year, Elite has been a member of the Titan football program, where he plays as an outside linebacker and fullback. His hard work and determination have made him a reliable and versatile player on the field.

When reflecting on highlights from his most recent game, Elite said, “A particular highlight was when my teammates on defense helped me get in the backfield and tackle the running back for a loss. We stopped Etiwanda HS from scoring that drive.”

Grand Terrace High School’s Head Football Coach Ryan Taylor praised him highly, stating, “Elite Lopez embodies the work ethic every coach dream of. His relentless dedication has earned him every opportunity he has ever had, and his phenomenal teamwork and trustworthiness make him a cornerstone for our staff and players.”

Away from football, Elite enjoys working out, hiking, playing chess, and admits that one of his favorite hobbies is simply enjoying a good meal.

He credits his father, Adrian Lopez, as his biggest influence, saying, “My Dad has been the biggest influence in my life. He has always been there for me to teach me and lead me, helping me grow into a man.”

Looking ahead, Elite plans to join the military after graduation. His career goals include becoming a police officer and eventually working with SWAT. He finds motivation in the words of Rocky Balboa: “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” Elite also proudly shares, “Jesus is my Lord and Savior!”

With his strong faith, academic excellence, and dedication to serving others, Elite Lopez is not only a Titan to respect but also a young man with a bright future ahead. The Titan community proudly congratulates him as this week’s Athlete of the Week. The best is yet to come for this amazing Titan!
