SAN BERNARDINO>> The holiday season is here once again and the Salvation Army is in need of volunteers to serve as bell ringers. Every year during the holiday season, Salvation Army rings the bell to generate additional dollars. This year, Salvation Army is in need of additional volunteers to help meet their goal. “When volunteers ring the bells, it increases the amount of money The Salvation Army gets to keep to help people in need,” said Major Henderson. "We are looking for volunteers to ring the bells and help raise money for the Salvation Army to help the needy this holiday season." Donations collected during the Christmas kettle campaign in San Bernardino are used to provide food baskets and other essential during the Christmas season. These funds are also used by The Salvation Army to provide emergency services including food; lodging for homeless or displaced families; clothing and furniture; assistance with rent or mortgage and transportation when funds are available. Volunteer opportunities began on Nov. 19 and take place until Christmas Day.
