The Academy of Sports Science is accepting applications now for its Summer Sports Program for 6-12 grade students starting July 1, 2016. The cost is free, and locations involved are San Bernardino, Ontario, Corona, San Dimas, Walnut, Rancho Cucamonga, and Chino. Help students join a Summer and Year-round Program offering an opportunity of a lifetime so they can experience a new way of learning and becoming leaders today. The Academy of Sports Science is now seeking students who aspire to excel with the dedication, desire, and passion to advance themselves to collegiate and professional levels of competition in one of several sports disciplines. The Academy of Sports Science is one of three concentration disciplines within SCALE Leadership Academy. SCALE's Academy of Sports Science is unique in providing students an opportunity to train with athletic professionals while completing their school studies online. Students enrolled with the sports science academy will learn, study, and complete their academic curriculum from SCALE (Schools and Communities for Advanced Learning Experiences) Leadership Academy. In general, the Academy of Sports Science provides students an opportunity to seek out their athletic passions while taking care to their education all at the same time. The Academy of Sports Science provides educational opportunities to student athletes during its summer programs as well as with its year-round academy. The Academy of Sports Science summer program is FREE but space is limited. Once students have enrolled, they will be able to participate at one of several sports academy centers located throughout Southern California. Sports concentrations include basketball, football, baseball, Jiu Jitsu, speed and strength building, gymnastics, and more. Summer programs begin July 1; enrollment forms may be submitted to the athletic center of choice. After completion of the summer program, students will receive five units of PE elective credit for one semester. As the summer program concludes, students are invited to continue their sports training while attending our year-round virtual school, SCALE Leadership Academy. The year-round program is a complete comprehensive academic program allowing students to complete their academic studies while continuing to train with coaching professionals in the sport of their choice. The real advantages for student athletes are to enroll year-round and benefit from a program that encourages their full development as students and athletes. In this program, students are empowered to create a vision for the future that includes being college bound, sustained academic success, and to become self motivated leaders. Together, The Academy of Sports Science within SCALE Leadership Academy enables students and their families to receive an education customized to meet their needs and move forward toward a successful future. "We are truly excited about the 2016 summer program and the 2016-17 year-round academic program," states Dr. Lawrence Wynder, Executive Director of SCALE Leadership Academy. "We have professional athletic coaches and California credentialed teachers on our team providing new opportunities for students and their families! And because the program is free, many students from all communities will be able to take advantage of this new paradigm in education." The mission of the Academy of Sports Science is to develop elite athletes and to support national efforts to increase competitiveness on an international level.
