This holiday season, Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California (CCFSC) is asking people to help children that are battling cancer. For a minimum donation of $10, supporters will receive the 2016 “Undefined by Cancer” calendar featuring 12 resilient children who are not letting themselves be defined by the disease.
The children’s faces represent the over 700 families in Southern California that receive support from the Childhood Cancer Foundation. Interested donors can make their donation online at www.ccfsocal.org/calendar or by mailing $10 plus $2.86 for postage to the CCFSC Office at 11155 Mt. View Ave #105, Loma Linda 92354.
The annual calendar was made possible by the cooperation of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and features a cover photo of the children with members of the San Manuel Fire Department.
“Every three and a half minutes a parent hears the devastating news ‘your child has cancer.’ Our calendar embraces how these beautiful children are not defined by their diagnosis. We are shining a light on their lives, personalities and what truly makes them who they are,” said Stephanie Avila, Program Coordinator for Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California. “Our desire is that this calendar will share their smile and spread hope to all those brave children who are currently fighting the battle against cancer.”
The CCFSC works directly with families to identify their need for support, whether it is emotionally, financially, educationally or emergency assistance. The calendar sales will help the nonprofit continue to provide these much needed services. Additional information available by contacting CCFSC at (909) 558-3419 or kids@ccfsocal.org.
