The California Inland Empire Council Boy Scouts of America hosted their Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center last month on Feb. 7. The evening was filled with fun and fellowship as the group celebrated the 2014 Silver Beaver recipients, 2014 Journey to Excellence, Special Veteran awards and Scout Law awards. A silent and live auction was also held, raising over $3,000 to contribute to 2015 Campership Funds, which helps send Scouts to camp. The Silver Beaver award is the California Empire Council’s highest honor for all of the districts: Sunrise, Grayback, Tahquitz, Three Peaks, Mount Rubidoux, Five Nations, Temescal, Old Baldy, High Desert and Arrowhead. The honorees included: Linda Bennett, Luis Bravo, Richard Campbell, Guy Chabot, Donald Curtis, Laurie Curtis, William Dull, David Hall, Nichole Horsley, Darren Nugent, Dean Palmer, Peter Peters, Patrick Michael Poor, Ward Roney, Fred Stieg, Peggy YaYa Sager, Dane Santistevan, and Richard Slider.
