Jack Paduntin has been appointed as the new associate dean at Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Extended Learning. He started at the university on June 3. As a part of his new duties, he will oversee international extension programs in CEL, including the American Culture and Language Program, International Training and Education Programs, TESOL special sessions and extension programs, self-support study abroad programs and a variety of other custom-designed programs. Paduntin brings a wealth of experience to the position through his international and student-oriented efforts at California’s second-largest private, nonprofit institution of higher education, National University based in San Diego. While there, he served as vice president for institutional research and assessment and led academic assessment activities and institutional research to prepare and pass regional and professional accreditations, including the Western Association of School and Colleges. He designed, maintained and analyzed the key university metrics and developed systems to measure program quality and student learning outcomes. Later, Paduntin became president at the National University International, where he led strategic plan development and execution efforts, and managed operations in six states and three foreign countries. He also oversaw recruitment and admission processes of international students for National University and some of its branches. He was responsible for the operation of the English language program at three campuses in California, along with state licensures and the delivery of online programs outside California. Contributing to his unique résumé, Paduntin holds a doctorate in business administration from the United States International University, a master’s degree in international management from the University of Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand. Paduntin is also a member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board, serving as an expert evaluator.
