San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Football freshman kicker Alex Raya (Beaumont H.S.) has signed his letter of intent with Morgan State University. Raya, a second team All-Mountain Conference selection, was devastating with his extra point attempts, converting 95% (41-43) and was 9 of 16 on his field goal attempts. Raya connected on four field goals over 35 yards and two over 40 yards. His skill set was the difference in victories at West LA, at home against Victor Valley and at East LA. Under second-year coach John Shipp, SBVC finished with a record 9-2 overall and 6-1 in conference. As a reward for winning the American Division-Mountain Conference title and going to the Golden State Bowl, Coach Shipp was handed Coach of the Year honors. SBVC was an offensive juggernaut, ranked throughout the year as a top three scoring team in the state at 41.4 points per game. Morgan State University is located in Baltimore, Maryland. The BSU Bears play at Hughes Stadium, and the team is coached by second-year coach, Lee Hull. In the 2015 season, the Bears went 4-4 in conference play, with an overall record of 4-6. BSU competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
