Dignity Health – Inland Empire Hospitals Award Over $400,000 in Grants to Support Local Health Initiatives

Dignity Health – Community Hospital of San Bernardino (CHSB) and St. Bernardine Medical Center (SBMC) hosted their annual Community Grant Awards Luncheon on March 27, highlighting their ongoing commitment to improving health and well-being in the Inland Empire. The event, held at

“These grants reaffirm our mission to extend healing and hope beyond our hospital walls,” said June Collison, CHSB Hospital President. “We are immensely proud to partner with these dedicated organizations. Their work directly addresses significant health challenges our community faces, and our support ensures these vital programs will make a profound difference."

 

This year, a total of $432,500 in grants was awarded to six outstanding local organizations: Rescue a Generation, Lestonnac Free Clinic, Family Assistance Program, Catholic Charities, Akoma Unity Center, and Arrowhead United Way. These organizations were selected for their impactful work in tackling critical issues such as mental and behavioral Health, combating human trafficking, addressing food insecurity, enhancing youth services, and supporting veteran programming.

 

Erin Donnell, SBMC Interim Hospital President, added, “Through these critical partnerships, we actively address complex health disparities by investing directly in programs that foster well-being, champion equitable access to care, and empower our neighbors to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Our objective is to provide essential resources and support for Inland Empire residents to thrive.”

 

Dignity Health’s Community Health Improvement Grants program has awarded over $100 million to support health improvement projects since its inception in 1991. This long-standing initiative has been instrumental in addressing the diverse health needs of communities across the region.
