Street Repairs Needed Immediately/600 S. Mountain View

There has been much written about the need for street repairs and holes filled throughout the City of San Bernardino over the last few years, but none more prevalent than the ongoing destruction of residential streets surrounding the Orange Show complex. The ongoing expansion of businesses along Arrowhead Avenue, warehouse expansion sites, and the entertainment programs provided by the Orange Show on a weekly basis have affected the surrounding infrastructure of sidewalks and paved streets that are deteriorating in an extremely quick manner. The residents of those streets have resigned themselves to the aftermath of having the asphalt torn up in front of their houses, and having to wade through the massive holes that are left behind after several 54-foot tractor trailer trucks drive passed their house while crushing more of the pavement and creating deeper holes. At the same time, more programs are being scheduled at the Orange Show, and the overflow parking for those events is impacting those side streets with traffic and noise. It is becoming a hazard for any vehicle to travel back and forth on Huff Avenue and the 600 block of South Mountain View without causing injury to the drivers or their cars. The City needs to research these growing issues immediately and determine how to rectify the road damage that has occurred in the surrounding neighborhoods near the Orange Show. Each of the residents in that area would be most appreciative of any assistance the City could bring forward at this time.
