Stater Bros. Markets recognized employees for reaching milestone years in their careers, ranging from 20 years to 50 years, on June 20. This year’s Family Service Awards Banquet was held at the Riverside Convention Center, and honorees were recognized and personally presented with Family Service Award Pins by Stater Bros. Markets Chairman and CEO Jack H. Brown. The Family Service Awards Program was established in 1987, and employees reaching 5, 10 and 15 years of service are recognized with a beautiful gold pin that signifies their years of service. Those with 20 or more years are also invited to the “Family Service Awards” Banquet once every five years. Milestones reached this year include one 50-year service award; four 45-year service awards; 15 40-year service awards; 65 35-year service awards; 99 30-year service awards; 248 25-year service awards; and 153 20-year service awards for a total of 585 service awards. Since 1987 the company has honored 7,964 employees. “I am proud that so many employees have chosen to make Stater Bros. their career. It has been said that you judge a person by the company they keep … and a Company by the people they keep,” stated Brown. “Stater Bros. Markets was recently rated the ‘Best and Freshest’ Full Service Supermarket Chain in Southern California by a leading national consumer magazine, and this was because of the hard work and dedication of our loyal family members.” Brown further stated.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
