San Bernardino Valley College Women’s Basketball has named the replacement for 10-year veteran head coach Susan Crebbin, who took a position with Cal State San Bernardino on July 29. SBVC Director of Athletics, David Rubio, announced that Crebbin’s assistant coach for the past three seasons, Jasmane Clarendon, will take over as Interim Head Coach for the 2015-16 season. Over the past three years, Clarendon has overseen several team accomplishments, including two Foothill Conference Championships and a 2013 SoCal Finals appearance. Coach Clarendon, a San Bernardino native, played for Pepperdine University where she was named team captain, MVP her junior and senior year and made All-West Coast Conference first team appearances for three continuous years. Clarendon graduated from Pepperdine with a Bachelor’s of Science in physical education where she then returned to the court to play two seasons in Geneva, Switzerland. In high school, Clarendon played for Rialto Eisenhower where she was a four-year varsity starter and named two-time San Bernardino County player of the year and McDonald’s All-American nominee. Coaching for over eight years in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball, high school, middle school and personal training, Clarendon has great expectations as SBVC's new women's basketball interim head coach. Feeling honored and excited to be given this opportunity, she wishes to continue building and elevating the standard of excellence that has been set previously by former head coach Crebbin and determined to continue SBVC traditions and success.
