The San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control recently responded to a complaint of animal neglect in the Phelan area. During the course of the investigation, the purported owner of the animals surrendered 38 dogs and 17 cats to San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control. The surrendered animals were transported to a veterinarian for examination and evaluation. Based upon the veterinarian’s findings, these surrendered animals are being held as evidence pending review of the case by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Until that time, they’ll be cared for at the County of San Bernardino Animal Shelter in Devore, which already has several dogs awaiting adoption and is bracing for more. The Devore Animal Shelter is at 19777 Shelter Way in San Bernardino. Donations can be made to the Animals are First Fund (ARFF) at http://www.arffund.org. If you are an animal rescuer partner or potential adopter, call (909)386-9820 for more information.
