Stirling Capital Investments today announced and congratulated two valued employees on significant career milestones and industry recognitions. Anita Tuckerman, Director of Asset Services, was appointed to the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board (WIB). Josh Cox, Development Manager, was recognized by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) with the prestigious Emergent Leadership Award for Development. “With these accomplishments Anita Tuckerman and Josh Cox have not only demonstrated their exceptional professionalism and abilities, but in doing so have emulated Stirling’s commitment to giving back,” said Dougall Agan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stirling. “We take pride in contributing to the betterment of the real estate industry and the communities surrounding our large developments. Anita and Josh have each made exceptional contributions that we are very proud of.” Anita Tuckerman was appointed to the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) by San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Robert Lovingood. The WIB addresses major workforce issues in the county, leveraging regional strategies to capitalize on industries that exist within the county, to broker innovative workforce solutions and to change the paradigm of business investment in employment development. “The County Workforce Investment Board works to match community needs with those of the region’s large employers, providing important services to parties on both sides of the equation,” said Anita Tuckerman. “This position is extremely important to me as I recognize firsthand the board’s ability to truly influence and improve the quality of life in San Bernardino County. Where there is healthy employment, there is an improved housing situation, reduced homelessness, more veterans enabled to work and an improved sense of pride – all important components of a successful community.” “As the Director of Asset Services serving the major Global Access commercial and industrial development in Victorville - which is home to major employers including Boeing, Dr Pepper Snapple, FedEx, Newell Rubbermaid, Pratt & Whitney, General Electric and countless others – it makes sense that Anita would be chosen to serve on the Workforce Investment Board,” added Agan. “The knowledge she has of these employers’ workforce needs and challenges is substantial.” Anita Tuckerman’s contributions to the regional business community span further than her recent appointment. She has served on the Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2011, including serving in the role of Chairman of the Board in 2013-2014. She also currently serves on the St. Mary’s St. Joseph Health Care Foundation Board, the City of Victorville’s Redevelopment Oversight Committee, the High Desert Opportunity Committee, and is Vice President of the Global Access Business Association. She is a licensed real estate agent and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from California State University, Fullerton. ULI Orange County / Inland Empire recognized Josh Cox in June with an Emergent Leadership Award. The annual recognition program of the ULI Young Leaders Group honors motivated, dedicated and innovative emerging real estate professionals who have demonstrated dedication to bettering themselves and their industry. The honors highlight the most outstanding local emerging leaders whose contributions to their company and to ULI make it clear that they lead by example. “It is an honor to receive this recognition, as there were many incredible candidates for ULI to select from,” said Josh Cox. “As an organization ULI provides outstanding education to those in real estate and I will continue to contribute to the organization where I can.” With a decade in the real estate development field, Josh Cox is an active member of the real estate community. A LEED accredited professional with the U.S. Green Building Council, Cox is actively engaged with the Urban Land Institute as a ULI Young Leaders Group (YLG) Executive Committee Member and “Board Room After Hours” Event Co-Chair. He serves on the NAIOP Inland Empire Developing Leaders Board and is a member of the NAIOP SoCal Young Professionals Group (YPG) Alumni Committee, representing the graduating class of 2009. Josh Cox also serves as Secretary on the Global Access Business Association. “Not only has Josh contributed immensely to the success of our firm, but his direct contributions to the real estate industry are noteworthy,” added Agan. “He stands out as an individual who is undoubtedly part of our industry’s next generation of leaders.”
