Several concerned residents of the Colton community contacted the office of Third District Supervisor James Ramos with concerns over the safety of Reche Canyon Road. They expressed concerns over the amount of cars that constantly speed on this road. Community residents feel that this is a growing problem, one that should be addressed promptly in order to keep Reche Canyon Road safe for both residents and drivers. In order to address the concerns of local residents, Supervisor Ramos has been working with the Department of Public Works to expedite the acquisition of two speed traffic signs that will be placed along that road. The Department of Public Works installed radar feedback signs on Jan. 28 at the following locations on Reche Canyon Road: · For the southbound direction: 506 feet south of Westwood St. · For the northbound direction: 1,630 feet south of Westwood St. The signs will be in place for approximately 60 days to measure traffic speeds in the area. Supervisor Ramos commented, “Colton residents expressed their concerns over the safety of the road and as their Supervisor I am working to find the best solution to this issue. It is important that residents feel safe in the communities they live in.”
