Family Movie Night was held at the Inland Empire Job Corps Center last month on Sept. 27—the first community silver screen night planned for the community of Muscoy sponsored by County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisor for the Fifth District, Josie Gonzales. The Job Corps students and staff prepared a variety of activities for the moviegoers. Kids were having fun with the jump houses, getting their faces painted, playing soccer and showing their abilities with the famous hula hoop. A representative from the Native American Resource Center, Valerie Debosh, had a table showing kids how to create arts and crafts along with Dianne Alexander, Director of Preschool Services with the County. They also decorated pumpkins donated by Mary Petit, founder of Incredible Edible Community Gardens. The crowd was entertained by the music playing before the movie began. Many of the attendees could not refuse the urge to dance to the beat. One of them was Supervisor Josie Gonzales, who did not hesitate to dance with Job Corps student, Joshua Newcomb. Things started to quiet down as 7:30 p.m. approached when the movie “Little Rascals” began.
