SAN BERNARDINO>> The first cohort of 12 students from San Manuel Gateway College will receive their medical assistant certificates ion Wednesday June 7 at 6:00 p.m.  This brings to fruition a long dream to provide high school graduates in and around the Inland Empire  with viable career training and a pathway to further higher education.

Additionally, 22 adult learners will graduate with their basic certification from the college’s Community Health Worker/Promotores Academy, allowing them to advocate and educate for better health in their communities. All of the group members are continuing on for further specialization in clinical or school-based settings.

In addition to Loma Linda University Health leadership, a representative of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will attend the ceremony. The college was made possible by a $10 million grant from the tribe.

As per the San Manuel Gateway College website, the college offers clinical experience training programs, including 6-18 month certificate programs that offer students job skills and college credit for transfer.

Loma Linda University Health – San Bernardino Campus, San Manuel Gateway College, is located at 250 S. G. Street, San Bernardino, California. For more information on  San Manuel Gateway College, visit http://sanmanuelgatewaycollege.llu.edu/.
